Intro Screen, Stinker Studioz, and a Royal Promotion!

Hey everyone! Back with another update on Frogstool, and this one’s got some sick new additions that really help flesh out the game’s personality. Let’s break it down!

Title Screen & Stinker Studioz

First off, Frog Stool now has a proper intro screen! It gives the game a more polished feel right from the start. Along with that, I’ve officially decided on a "company name" for my solo dev work—Stinker Studioz. It’s goofy, fits the vibe, and now proudly appears on the startup screen.

Randomized Splash Texts

The title screen now features randomized splash texts, little witty one-liners or tips that change each time you start the game. Some are actually helpful, but most are just there for fun. Here are a few examples:

  • "this game contains mild amphibian violence!"
  • "toad-ally rad!"
  • "a story of gubble the great!"
  • "swerb eggs can regenerate health!"
  • "if you listen closely, the village still sings old wart knight songs."
  • "some say the bats report directly to cocferno."
  • "fort wubblewart was nicer before the invasion!"

I've also woven in references to the Wart Knights and the history of Fort Wubblewart in the splash texts, hinting that Cocferno wasn’t always in power. These subtle details help add a deeper layer of lore to Frogstool, giving players something to ponder beyond the main adventure.

Final Boss & Gubble’s Coronation

I also added a post-final boss screen after you defeat Cocferno, the fire-breathing chicken. Now, instead of just rolling the credits, players get to witness Gubble being knighted—and then crowned as the Frog King. Feels like a fitting reward for all that ribbiting hard work! It also sets up some fun potential ideas for a sequel or extra content down the line.

That’s it for now! Frogstool keeps evolving, and I’m stoked about these updates. More polish, more personality, and a bit more royal flair.
